How to be a Photographer is an unpretentious little book with a red edge. Thomas Vanden Driessche insisted that it be red. He wanted to make the copy more faithful to the original. How to be a Photographer has been making rounds on the web for the past few months. First exhibited in Sète, the book is now being released.

When a vintage photo booth was set up in Brussels, Thomas Vanden Driessche started the series How to be… Armed with his typewriter, the photographer examines (and parodies) every genre of photography. From wedding photography to war correspondence, nothing is spared. He takes on the roles of different characters in a series of self-portraits, and his advice for photographers serves as a typology of photographers today.
