The first roundtable hosted by Pascal Beausse, who is in charge of the photography collections of the CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques). The subject is the situation of major institutions through three examples.

François Cheval, Director of the Musée N. Niepce in Chalon/Saône

Historically, the museum in Chalon is the first major French public institution devoted to photography. It is supported mainly by the city. The contributions of patrons goes far beyond territorial recognition or financial support. The museum’s different activities, spaces for production and open spaces (exhibitions, publishing, printing, education, research, multimedia development, etc.) benefit from specific and loyal patrons, who make it a part of a genuine entrepreneurial economy of coproduction: BNP-Paribas for publishing, Epson for production, Olympus for the loan or equipment and teaching, Central-Dupon for lamination, In Situ for video and multimedia, a wine producer for acquisitions, Canson, etc.

Looking for partnerships is the opportunity to engage with different parties who may be concerned by the museum, and above all to show the public  the different and various ways photography is practiced.
