7 milliards d'Autres
France, written by Bernard Perrine
After looking at the planet, Yann Arthus-Bertrand wanted to complete this testimony by the voice of man. In 2003, he starts the project: 7 Billion others, with a very simple idea: do video portrait of humanity nowadays using common questions:
What is for you the meaning of life?
What hardship have you endured?
What would you like to pass on to your children?
What have you learned from your parents?
What changes have you witness in your country?
For seven years, reporters went to collect the experiences and philosophies of the inhabitants of 84 countries and recorded 6,000 video interviews. From the Brazilian fishermen, the Chinese store holder, the German Artist, to the Afghan farmer, all answered the same 45 questions. Questions that transcends humanity, everywhere and forever: the dreams, challenges, love, happiness, the meaning of life, sharing, death, war, forgiveness... So many essentials themes revealing our differences as well as our similarities...
"This project which is close to my heart, says Yann Arthus-Bertrand, has been selected among the 100 most socially innovating digital projects by the Nominet Trust (Financial Times)"
