Since photography has become a very important part of my life, not only my main occupation but after all my great passion, I have realised that it gives me a possibility to express my feelings not in words but in pictures. Words have become needless.
Creating my own vision of the world which surrounds us in this way also resulted with the Dolls series. This cycle is especially close to me for two reasons: the role of the doll is acted by my daughter Natalia, while the entire project (based on my visions) was executed by me being not only a photographer but also a make-up artist, stylist, hairdresser, and set designer. The series is a substitute for the world that fascinates me and that I most willingly show in my pictures, the world with some magic, fabulous, surrealistic, mysterious. Such photography is extremely close to me. Thanks to it I give vent to my imagination and I try to show what and how I see the world around me.
Although the Dolls series was created at the beginning of my photographic way, I have been true to this fabulous style up to now. I try to use as often as possible a motive of fairy tales in my fashion photography, so that it becomes a constant element of my photos, my trade mark. I draw inspiration from countless sources – books, movies, theatre, painting, music, or my own dreams. What photography means to me is the best expressed in the following words by Don McCullin: “Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.”
