Paris: Léa Lund

Preview

Léa Lund met Eric K in Paris in July 2011. It was love at first sight. Forty thousand photographs later, Eric and Lea are still together: he’s her muse, accomplice and model in every city they visit. Each step is a source of inspiration, an ongoing search for that magical space where Eric will take full possession of the setting, gazing into the distance like a nomad, a “stranger,” as he says.

Theirs is a genuine collaboration. They share their ideas and their gifts. Léa is a multi-talented artist who has always drawn. At the Academie des Beaux-Arts, she studied photography. For her, taking a photograph is not much different from a drawing, and she continues to express herself through these two media as well as engraving, painting and sculpture.

Eric K, a magnificent dandy, strikes a pose. His vest and high hat aren’t a costume; he’s always dressed like this. From Congo, Eric K denies being a “sapeur,” a member of the country’s ultra-stylish fashion movement. “I’m not dressing up for a part. I might be a dandy, but I simply love elegance.” Léa is there to capture the shared moment on their romantic journey.
