Insha’Allah, Life in parentheses concerns a very personal perspective on an extraordinary meeting with a people whose life, -just like ours, the Colombian people-, lays framed in a conflict of old.

Even though the evidences of my experience may contain traces of such conflict, the result is a warm and vivid meeting around the everyday life, the intimacy, the passage of time, the uncertainty of the future, the struggle of their people, friendship, and their life that has laid between parentheses for almost forty years, while the creation of a state, a worthy life for people who deserve it, is rigorously contemplated.

This proves that life prospers even in the most inhospitable place, the desert of the desert. Here the search for beauty blooms from this life in parenthesis, and I mean parenthesis not as something that may be overlooked without losing sense, but quite the opposite, as in this case, the most important is what lays within them, their life in supposed suspension, where even if everything becomes slowly, Life is able to flourish along with the emotional burden that keeps the Saharawi people alive, watchful and devoted to this fight for their cause, the recovery of their lands taken away by Morocco with the patronage of some great powers.
