Preview

In addition to the 11 exhibition of the 6th edition of the MAP Toulouse festival, viewers can enjoy the latest winners of the 2014 P.O.M. (Petites Oeuvres Multimedia) Prize, presented in association with Freelens and the support of Diapéro.

1st Prize POM
Laurent Moynat, La Californie

On the roads of the American West, we travel as a family. The trunk is overflowing, and memories are made before our eyes: Lucette’s laugh, the smell of the lake, the October sun, surprise snow, imaginary bears. The days pass by, outside of time. And before it can escape, we write words and take pictures. Anaïs.

2nd Prize
Sophie Knittel, Demos Oneiroi
https://vimeo.com/106364872

Demos Oneiroi uses symbolic, timeless elements to explore intimately linked themes like mortality, fear, beauty, conflict, fertility and serenity. These photographs attempt to encourage introspection, like contemplative markers blurring the distinction between the ephemeral and the eternal, the real and the abstract, as in a dream, or a nightmare.

3rd Prize
Elisabeth Schneider, Trompe la mort
https://vimeo.com/106365536

Originally, the photographer Elisabeth Schneider became interested in Ariane Ostier through her atypical job at a funeral parlor. When she went to meet her, Schneider learned that Ostier had been diagnosed with cancer.

This news cut short Schneider’s attempts to learn more about Ostier’s profession. A year later, the Schneider learned that Ostier’s cancer had gone into remission, which triggered a new desire in Schneider to make contact, but with a new perspective. Ostier’s close contact with death caused her to see her profession and her art in a different way.
