This week will be even more eclectic than usual. First, nostalgia, with the late Deborah Turbeville’s vision of Versailles, and, after forty years, the release of Eikoh Hosoe’s Ordeal by Roses, taken a few months before the suicide of Yukio Mishima. Stephen Shames’ wonderful documentary book about the Enfants du Bronx, a report of the London Art Fair by the team from the Galerie Voie Off in Arles, and a presentation of one of the most important photo festivals in Asia, Chobi Mela in Bangladesh. We’ll also be unveiling the names of the two winners of the Prix HSBC pour la photographie 2015, not to mention exhibitions from Sabine Pigalle in Geneva, Assaf Shaham at the Yossi Milo gallery in New York, Jasper de Beijer in Istanbul, and Anne De Gelas in Paris.
And who knows, maybe we’ll change things around if something great comes up—and it always does. In fact, every day we have to discard almost two-thirds of the information we receive.
