The “Escale à la Grange aux Belles” is a citizen-driven, people’s educational project, supported by the Ile de France Region. Each year there are 8 exhibitions that aim to raise awareness on social problems and deal forcefully with realities that are often unrecognised. A video portrait of the photographer, presenting his or her experience, aesthetic point of view, the direction of his or her approach and the major challenges presented by the project, supports each exhibition.

Currently being shown is the work Out of Home by Colin Delfosse, produced in the Democratic Republic of Congo with the support of Première Urgence Internationale. Forced to flee their provinces in the Katanga conflict, the exiled populations were taken into villages or informal camps a long way from the conflict zones. The photographer, Colin Delfosse, reflects this brutal, uncertain reality. Through these images, this exhibition shines a light on the humanitarian work of the teams in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with people forced to learn to live again far from their homes.
