Denis Piel : Moments

Preview

Rizzoli presents the first monograph on the photographer Denis Piel. Famous for his cinematic approach—asking subjects to play out a role in the same way a director works with his cast—Denis Piel became one of the most sought after photographers of the late 70s and 80s.
While most books on Piel’s contemporaries are predominately black and white, this volume, designed by award-winning designer Ruth Ansel, sings with color. It features images spanning Piel’s career, including those taken on assignment for fashion magazines and advertising clients, as well as nudes of women who would become the supermodels and actresses of a new generation such as Christy Turlington, Uma Thurman, Nastassja Kinski, Andie MacDowell, Gia Carangi, Tatjana Patitz, Kelly LeBrock and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The sensually charged and highly stylised images in Denis Piel: Moments are sure to intrigue anyone with an interest in photography, celebrity or beautiful women.
