Thierry Bouët’s Postcards

Preview

Since 1989, photographer Thierry Bouët has sent postcards to his best friend, who never replies. Each postcard is manually prepared by Bouët in the same way: a picture made by the photographer on the front, a message on the back, and a carefully chosen stamp.

These postcards bear witness to the life of the photographer and our society. They are deeply ironic, sometimes cruel, and have no mercy for their subjects, or their creator. Half derisive, half cheerful, each postcard lets the photographer transform the image by adding his own impression.

Bouët will soon send his 500th postcard, and has no plans to stop.
