Robert Mann Gallery presents six new works by Paulette Tavormina, continuing in the artist’s tradition of sumptuous still-life photography. Basing her compositions on those of old master painters like Francisco de Zurbaran and Giovanna Garzoni, Tavormina uses evocative lighting and striking juxtapositions to create lavish images of the natural world. Yet through the digital lens, her intricate scenes are also thoroughly modern visions of objects, beautiful in themselves.
