In 1969 I purchased a Triumph 650 Trophy motorcycle, and spent the next 2 years touring. I always enjoyed the company, camaraderie and the culture of the biking community, but sadly those days ended a long time ago and all that remains are memories.

I have always said that my photographs are about as myself as well as what I am photographing. Although my bike days are long past, I have been returning to Daytona Beach, Florida for the past few years for the annual “Bike Week” where over 250,000 bikers congregate for one week each March. It is an event of bikes boobs, beer, butts and bellies (not necessarily in that order), where bikers get to hang out, show off their woman, drink beer and ride their bikes. It is truly so American!

Cuba

A recent trip to Cuba has inspired me to begin a new photo series on this fascinating country. I intend to visit this wonderful country a few times more before my project is complete, so for now it will simply be a work-in-progress.
