Belgian photographers in Angkor Photo Festival & Workshop

Preview

A few Belgian photographers were chosen to exhibit their work for the 10th edition of the Angkor Photo Festival. Marie Sordat and Sébastien Van Malleghem were among them. With the support of Wallonie-Bruxelles International, the photographers accompanied their work to Cambodia in order to help promote Belgian photography and were warmly welcomed by this family of photographers on the other side of the world.

What did you find remarkable about the Angkor Photo Festival in terms of the work of display, the organization, the atmosphere, and the energy it exudes?

Cambodia is a country filled with very intense and mixed emotions. The festival is the same, and we were impressed by the richness of the works on display. Between the exhibitions in galleries, workshops, screenings, and outdoor exhibitions, visitors were able to discover the impact of photography worldwide. It is all the more impressive to see the work of Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson exhibited along the banks of the Siem Reap River, not far from his superb panoramic photographs of the Yangtze River in China. Then there’s the astonishing range of projected photographs taking us all over the world.
