Visa Pour L’image 2016 : Winners Visa d’or awards

Here are all the winners of the 28th edition of Visa d’or Awards :

• Visa d’or News Award : Aris MESSINIS (AFP) for his report on migrants, on the Greek island of Lesbos.

• Visa d’or Feature Award : Peter BAUZA (Echo Photojournalism) for his reportage of an unfinished but occupied condo where some 300 families have found a roof – in the Copacabana Palace (Rio, Brazil).

• Visa d’or Daily Press Award : Dnevnik (Slovenia) – Jaka Gasar & Bojan Velikonja. A total of 31 newspapers submitted reportages for the 2016 festival. This year is the fifth time that Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole sponsored the award as part of their regional marketing strategy, contributing the prize money of €8000 for the Daily Press Visa d’or award winner.

•  Figaro Magazine Achievement Visa d’or Award : Stanley GREENE (NOOR). Visa pour l’Image and Le Figaro Magazine have joined forces to create a new Visa d’or award in recognition of the lifetime achievement of an established photographer who is still working. The Lifetime Achievement Visa d’or, sponsored by Le Figaro Magazine, with prize money of €8000.

• Humanitarian Visa d’or Award – International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) : Juan ARREDONDO (Getty Images Reportage) for his reportage on Child Soldiers in Colombia.

• Visa d’or Award for the best digital news story : Magnus WENNMAN for Fatima’s Drawings produced by the Swedish national daily, Aftonbladet. Jenny Svenberg Bunnel did the animation work.
Guillaume HERBAUT received a special distinction for his work « Ukraine : le carnet de route d’un photographe » (Arte) – (Ukraine: a Photographer’s Logbook)
