Promoting, sharing, and preserving photography: these are the goals of the Picto Foundation. Created earlier this year, the foundation combines the initiatives supported by the Picto lab and carried out by various actors in the photography sector. These initiatives include the Niépce Prize, the Emerging Talent Award (Bourse du Talent), and the Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Photo Award. Among them, the Picto Young Fashion Photography Award occupies a special place: created in 1998 by the Picto lab, it named this year’s winners on November 22. For the 19th edition of the award, Valérie Belin presided over the jury composed of thirteen photography professionals. The jury awarded the first, second, and third prizes, respectively, to Laurent Henrion, Julie Poncet, and Sasha Marro, and selected five finalists.

Laurent Henrion is the winner of the Picto Young Fashion Photography Award. Born in 1992 in Belgium, Laurent Henrion studied photography at the Institut des Arts Techniques Sciences et Artisanats (IATA) in Namur and at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Liège. His work is on display until January 8 as part of the Hasselt Triennial (Belgium), an event combining contemporary art, fashion, design, music, and photography, reflecting Laurent Henrion’s own interest in bringing together fashion, drawing, painting, and sculpture…

Laurent Henrion will produce, with the assistance of a fine art print specialist, an exhibition valued at €2,000 (excluding tax). He will benefit from a daylong studio photo shoot offered by Studio Daguerre, and his images will be displayed on JCDecaux billboards. Laurent Henrion has been also invited to donate one work from among his submission portfolio to the Picto Foundation collections. Archival prints will be produced by the Picto lab.
