The French photographer Reine Paradis, who lives in Los Angeles, creates narrative photographs by staging herself in surrealist landscapes. In her pictures, she is dressed in orange and interacts with highly-coloured landscapes. Photographed in many locations throughout America, the Jungle series brings us on an introspective journey through a symbolic and colourful world, extending beyond the limits of reality. All her scenes are envisaged before being shot in real locations. Once the scene is fully visualised, Reine Paradis sketches and paints the staging which is then used as a reference during the scene’s final photography. All the costumes, accessories and origamis are meticulously designed and made according to the initial visualisation of the scene. Each scene is an adventure in itself.
